Harvard Files 50 Year
Master Plan http://www.allston.harvard.edu/imp/imp.htm
http://www.allston.harvard.edu/imp/imp.htm On January 11, 2007, Harvard
unveiled its plans for the future, filing with the City of Boston a
proposed Institutional Master Plan for the first stage of the
physical evolution of an interdisciplinary campus in Allston. At the
Allston Task Force meeting on January 24th, I was able to view
Harvard’s presentation. The plan is massive and Harvard has an
amazing opportunity to revitalize Allston. I hope that Harvard
continues to listen to the community and take their comments to
heart.
Public comments on the Master Plan should be submitted to Mr. Gerald
Autler, Senior Project Manager for the BRA, at One City hall Square,
Boston, MA 02210 or at Gerald.Autler.BRA@cityofboston.gov. by
Friday, February 16th, 2007. For more information on the master
plan, check out
http://www.allston.harvard.edu/imp/imp.htm.
Watch Senator Barrios' show
"The State of Safety: Is MA Safer 5 years after 9/11?"
It has been a long road, but the light is at the end
of the tunnel for residents of the Lincoln St. neighborhood in Allston.
The Senate in 2006 approved funding for sound barriers to be placed
along Lincoln St. Due to pressure from Senator Barrios and the
community, the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority placed a temporary fence
in 2005, but the fence could not stand up to the Boston winter.
Harvard University’s “Allston Initiative”
Senator Barrios continues to work closely with
Harvard, the Boston Redevelopment Authority and the community regarding
Harvard’s expansion into Allston. The Harvard Task Force, which
currently meets every two weeks, continually updates the community on
the projects that Harvard has planned. For more information visit:

Redevelopment Authority's role, visit their
